Job Title: Senior Playworker (Qualified CACHE Level 3)

Responsible to: Management Committee/Manager

Responsible for: All aspects of the day-to-day organisation of the out of school club.

Salary: £9.65 per hour.

Job Location: A School in Roath, Cardiff.

Please note, that we ask staff to be flexible should the need arise to provide cover at an alternative POOSC site in Roath

Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week, term time only (including school Inset Days). 2.5 of these hours are to be used flexibly for preparation work, administration and meetings as appropriate. Core hours are 3 pm -6 pm Monday to Friday.

Main Job Tasks

To ensure the delivery of creative play opportunities in a safe and caring environment within an equal opportunities framework.

General Organisation

• To ensure the provision facilitates safe, creative and age appropriate play opportunities, preparation of activities and organisation of programming whilst taking into account the individual needs of all children as well as the group as a whole.
• To ensure all activities are conducted in a non-sexist, non-racist way.
• To ensure children are collected from school and delivered to parents/guardians/carers at the end of the session; to prepare soft drinks and healthy snacks as required.
• To undertake appropriate training when required.
• To respect confidentiality

Staffing

• To manage and lead a small team of Playworkers, and supervise and co-ordinate work of volunteers.
• To work with Manager to ensure the club has adequate staff cover at all times.
• To be involved with the Management Committee/ Manager in the recruitment of staff and volunteers.
