Go Red For Wales 2008

Go Red for Wales is The Trust's annual campaign which encourages schools, workplaces, social clubs and groups of friends across the whole of Wales to raise funds for The Trust. Events are linked around the colour red.

In 2008, Go Red for Wales will be back bigger and better than ever before – from Thursday 28th February to Saturday 1st March. Get a fundraising pack by filling in the form on the right.

What can you do?

Go Red for Wales is a red-themed celebration for St David's Day – it's fun, simple to get involved with, and is a great way to celebrate the day, along with raising money for good causes.

Care Council for Wales Registration

The Register of Social Care Workers opened in June 2003 with the registration of individuals with a social work qualification, followed by social work students from September 2004 and Social Care Managers from Spring 2005.

The Register is currently open to all Social Care Managers and Workers as described in the Care Standards Act 2000.

A major part of the drive for higher standards in social care services, registration will help give social care workers the recognition they deserve. It will also allow service care users to be confident that they can depend on a trained and trusted workforce.

The Register puts social care workers on a similar footing to other public service professions, such as medicine and teaching.

Cardiff Winter Wonderland

The bmibaby Cardiff Winter Wonderland returns to Cardiff's beautiful Civic Centre for the seventh year running. The magical open-air ice rink is back between November 15th 2007 and January 6th 2008 giving a cool 52 days of skating.

CRB Checks

As you will all be aware, the recent postal strike temporarily stopped all Royal Mail deliveries. However, you may not be aware that the strike by Liverpool members of the Communication Workers Union only ended on 19th October 2007. As the CRB is situated in Liverpool, they did not receive mail including CRB application forms posted to them in the two weeks prior to that date hence the delays in CRB’s being returned.

By checking the CRB website They do now appear to have received the majority of CRB’s sent during that time and they state they are making good progress!
